How it decides
Each candidate answer is scored by the tier of the source that stated it, how squarely the sentence asserts it, and how recent it is. Agreement across independent sources raises confidence; a close runner-up is flagged as a conflict rather than quietly dropped.
What it will not do
It will not invent a value. If nothing in the retrieved literature supports a field, that field comes back empty and says so. Every profile is marked unreviewed until a microbiologist signs it off.
